Bộ khuếch đại Yfiler Plus PCR Amplification Kit là xét nghiệm đa thuốc nhuộm 6 lần để phát hiện các đoạn lặp ngắn (STR) , cho phép khuếch đại từ nhiều loại mẫu đặc trưng của nam, ví dụ hỗn hợp nam -nam và nam-nữ, cũng như khuếch đại PCR trực tiếp từ các mẫu có nguồn đơn.
Phân tích Y-STR hữu ích cho việc xử lý các mẫu vụ án phức tạp với số lượng dấu vết DNA nam giới khi có mức DNA nữ cao. Các mẫu này có thể bao gồm các mẫu xét nghiệm cưỡng hiếp, dịch cơ thể có ít hoặc không có tinh trùng, và mẫu móng tay từ nạn nhân nữ bị tấn công bạo lực.
Yfiler Plus PCR Amplification Kit đã được xác nhận để các phòng thí nghiệm sử dụng để tạo hồ sơ DNA nhằm đưa vào cơ sở dữ liệu CODIS của Hệ thống chỉ số DNA quốc gia Hoa Kỳ (NDIS).
