Workshop: application of new technological solution of next generation sequencer – Miseq

On June 24, 2014, Biomedic Science Material JSC collaborated with  Hai Phong  university of medicine and pharmacy organized the seminar “The application of the new technological solution of next-generation sequencing Miseq-Illumina in medical diagnosis”

The workshop had the attendance of distinguished guests, Mr. Pham Van Thuc, Ph.D., Dr. – Principal of Hai Phong University of medicine and pharmacy, Mr. Tran Viet Tiep, Ph.D., Dr. – Director of Viet Nam – Sweden hospital, Uong Bi, Quang Ninh,  Mr. Le Van Thao, Assoc. Prof.  – former director of Hanoi Oncology hospital together with Heads and Deputy Heads of Departments at Hai Phong University of medicine and pharmacy and representatives of hospitals in Hai Phong city.

Mr. Pham Van Thuc, PhD., Dr.– Principal of Hai Phong  University of medicine and pharmacy delivered the opening speech at the beginning of the workshop.

Mr. Pham Van Thuc, Ph.D., Dr. – Principal of Hai Phong  University of medicine and pharmacy delivered the opening speech.

After opening speech, Biomedic introduced the innovative application of new technological solution of next-generation sequencing Miseq such as application to the detection of micro-organisms in samples, detecting etiology of pathogenic micro-organisms.

Hai Phong University of medicine and pharmacy invested and completed new technological solution of next-generation sequencing – Miseq to meet their study and application demand. With Miseq, this university succeeded in diagnosis and offering the effective clinical protocol for hepatitis B and hepatitis C caused by drug resistance. Nowadays, drug resistance which is  popular in the treatment of infectious diseases causes difficulties in giving appropriate clinical protocol, low effectiveness and costliness

Ms. Le Thi Hoi, Ph.D. – Testing Department – National hospital of tropical diseases introduced the using of Miseq in identifying microbial population in samples at National hospital of tropical diseases.

Nguyen Hung Cuong, Ph.D. – Dr. at Hai Phong university of medicine and pharmacy reported “Monitoring effectiveness of decreasing the number of viruses and detecting drug resistance mutation in viruses  causes chronic hepatitis B in Hai Phong”.

Guests were discussing and talking.

The workshop was run smoothly and successfully.Questions and wonders for reports from guests were answered persuasively. Biomedic committed to collaborate with hospitals to prevent diseases with the application of modern technology in diagnosis and current cure.
