Workshop on Career orientation, awarding Biomedic scholarship – Build up your knowledge and Career fair at VNU – University of Science

In the morning of July 14th, 2020, the workshop on “Career orientation, awarding Biomedic scholarship – Build up your knowledge” and Career fair was held by Biomedic and University of Science (VNU).

At the workshop, there was the participation of representatives of Biomedic, Mr. Cao Tien Dung – General Director, Ms. Duong Thi Thu Huong – Product Strategy Manager, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang – Head of Human Resource Department and employees who are former students of Biological Sciences Department, University of Science.

About University of Science, there are the presence of Assoc. Prof., Dr.Sc Vu Hoang Linh, Party committee Secretary, Rector of the university, Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son – Vice Principal and teachers and students of the university.

Besides, there was the participation of speakers. Prof. Mai Trong Khoa – Former Vice Director of Bach Mai Hospital, Director of oncology and nuclear medicine center – Bach Mai hospital, Dr. Pham Dinh Minh – Institute of Biotechnology and representatives from companies at the event of career fair.

At the workshop, Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son – Vice principal stated “the workshop on Career Orientation and Career fair is the opportunity for students to learn and build up skills, experiences and knowledge which are important to orientate their future career”. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son sent sincere thank you to Biomedic company for always accompany University of Science and create many opportunities for students in many years.

Career Orientation Workshop

In an attempt to help students to catch the trend of combining application of Biotechnology in clinical medicine with Information Technology, Biology, Physics and Chemistry, University of Science worked with Biomedic, the leading company in putting Bioinformatics in practice, to open workshop on career orientation for students with the participation of top specialists in this field.

At the workshop, Prof. Mai Trong Khoa said that, currently, technicians and physics engineers are playing an inevitable role beside doctors in clinics and hospitals in Vietnam. Therefore, in the near future, when hospitals in provinces build cancer departments and nuclear medicine departments, demand for human resources for this field will increase. This will be promising job opportunity for students at University of Science.

Dr. Pham Dinh Minh demonstrated that Bioinformatics is developing day by day in Vietnam in particular, and in the world in general. However, because there is no intensive training institute in Bioinformatics, so there is a lack of human resource in this field. Dr. Pham Dinh Minh said that this will be an attractive job opportunity for students at University of Science.

Mr. Cao Tien Dung – General Director of Biomedic, meanwhile, a former student of University of Science stated that “If the United State, Silicon valley is the science central of the world, University of Science is the place to incubate and nurture students who will be future human resources.” Biomedic is willing to support students so that they can have chances to work at company and approach modern science and technologies of big enterprises in the world.

Biomedic desired to develop better the long-term relationship between two sides and always support scholarships and specialists from the US and other big brands in the world to help University of Science hold science workshop to connect better with international community.

Biomedic Scholar – Build up your knowledge

 “Biomedic Scholar – Build up your knowledge” is the annual scholarship which Biomedic has given to students who has good performances in Biotechnology and Chemistry Department of University of Science. This fund will be the motivation and encouragement for potential students in studying and doing research.
