Seminar: Assisted Reproductive Technology

Seminar on Assisted Reproductive Technology was held by National Hospital of Obstetrics And Gynecology (NHOG) on 7th June 2018. M.S. Nguyen Quang Vinh introduced Non-Invasive Prenatal Genetic Testing (NIPT) on Next-generation sequencing technology from Illumina at the seminar.

NIPT, which is Non-Invasive Prenatal Genetic Testing, only uses 7-10 ml of mother’s blood to screen accurately at 99.98 percent of fetal abnormalities right at the 9th week. With those outstanding advantages, NIPT helps in reducing the rate of false amniocentesis, therefore reduces the rate of miscarriage and ensures safety for both mother and fetus.
