Every year 570,000 new cases, 311,000 deaths (1). In Vietnam, every 2.4 hours, a woman died from cervical cancer (2).

The HPV virus causes 100% of cervical cancers (1). There are more than 100 strains of HPV, 40 strains cause disease, at least 14 high-risk strains, two strains 16 and 18 account for 70% of cervical cancers, 2 strains 6 and 11 cause 90-95% of warts genital (3).

Screening for HPV can prevent up to 80% of cervical cancer (4).
