Biomedic Scholarship: Nurturing dreams for freshmen in difficulties

Recently, the Biomedic 5 million scholarship has been awarded to Nguyen Thanh Luan – a freshman of the University of Science – Vietnam National University, Hanoi on the admission day. Biomedic hoped that this scholarship could help share financial burden somehow and motivate Luan to strive to learn and do scientific research.

Nguyen Thanh Luan, together with his twin brother, Nguyen Thanh Long were born in a poor rural area of Tan Hoa commune, Nghia Dan district, Nghe An province. His father died when he was nearly 2 years old, he and his brother were raised by his mother in the poor condition. Although her health was not good, Luan’s mother, Mrs. Loan still worked on the farm and did domestic work for well-off families nearby. Love their mom and be aware of their family’s situation, Luan and Long always supported each other to study hard and help their mom do housework. In the course of 12 school-years, they were both excellent students. Thanh Luan, in particular, achieved provincial excellent student in Biology when he was in grade 11.

Recently, in the National high school examination, Thanh Luan got 21 scores in Group B including Maths, Chemistry and Biology (without priority points) and was accepted to Class Standard BioTechnology of the University of Science, – Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Luan honestly and humbly shared with Biomedic that he loved and determined to pursue Biotechnology since he was in grade 10.

“ I dream to be a researcher in Biotechnology to create products for food safety as well as medicine to save human. Today, I am thrilled and happy receiving the scholarship from Biomedic, I will try my best to study and research to get the opportunity to get internship and work at this company”.

Luan was humbly shared his story

“For the students with poor condition, Student Affair Department always care and support to help reduce difficulties when they study in Hanoi. In the case of Luan, Student Affair Department gave the support so that Luan could stay in the dormitory and guided necessary admission procedures. Besides that, we also help in order that Luan’s brother and mom can live together. Today, Our school greatly thanks Biomedic for awarding the scholarship for Luan and supporting him in the first days of school year.”

Anually, Biomedic gave scholarships for excellent students majoring in Biotechnology and Chemistry at University of Science in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city to find talents and bring the chance for studying and internship for students. Biomedic did and will continue to accompany with Vietnam scientist to-be, contribute to the development of national Science, and the peace and happiness of Vietnamese community.
