On October 8th and October 9th, the anniversary of 50 years of foundation of The Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center and the conference on the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology were solemnly held at the main hall, building P – the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center, Bach Mai Hospital. Biomedic was proud to be a companion for Bach Mai hospital in this special event.
There was the presence of the representatives from the Ministry of Health, Bach Mai Hospital, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Cancer Society, Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Hanoi Medical University; leading professors; members of the executive board of Bach Mai hospital through many periods; members of the management board and all the members of the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center in many periods.
In the opening address, Prof.Doc. Nguyen Quang Tuan – Party Secretary, director of Bach Mai hospital emphasized, the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center has developed step by step, achieved success and become a center with modern technologies and high quality of the human resource, can conduct complicated and intensive techniques in both nuclear medicine and oncology, and support in diagnosis for patients thanks to the spirit of solidarity, effort and the intellectual contribution of leaders and members in all generations in 50 years.
In the report of 50 years of construction and development of the center, Assoc. Prof. Pham Cam Phuong – Director of the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center pressed that the center has conducted many modern techniques in cancer diagnosis and treatment that could be compared with many countries in the regions and the world, for instance, linear accelerator radiation therapy with intensity-modulated radiation therapy, rotating gamma knife, selective internal radiation therapy with Y-90 microsphere for hepatocellular carcinoma and liver metastasis, stem cell production from tissue, and applying Adipose tissue-derived stem cells in treatment.
On this occasion, all members of the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center, Bach Mai hospital and Prof. Ph.D. Mai Trong Khoa – vice president of Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, former vice director of Bach Mai hospital, former director of the Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center were honoured to receive the First Class Labor Medal from President of the Social Republic of Vietnam for great contribution in health care for Vietnamese people.
Two themes in Symposium on Cancer and Nuclear Medicine
The symposium was held on October 8th, 2020 in the framework of the anniversary of 50 years of foundation of The Nuclear Medicine and Oncology center – Bach Mai hospital, attracted more than 300 representatives and doctor from hospitals and clinics.
